I'm watching the Biggest Loser right now and they're talking about what they would do with the money if they won. A lot of them got choked up talking about things that they've always wanted to do but never got to do it for various reasons (money, health concerns, etc). Some of them aspired to give money back to after school programs to take kids on trips to colleges so they can be motivated to work hard to get there. Another person was talking about making a safe place for teens to develop their social skills and hang out and feel comfortable because it was something she didn't have. I sat there and thought ...

"What do you care so much about that it makes you on the brink of tears when you speak on it?"

I think those are the only things I want to do in this life.
I want to be moved by the work that I do. I want to move people.
I want to do more than just exist or be a bystander to what happens in the world.

Passion & Purpose

The timing is never going to be right to embark on a new adventure, goal or dream. Life is too unexpected to know when the tides are perfect enough to brave the waves. So I don't believe in waiting for the right time anymore but for making every moment perfect to begin. I've learned that the longer you ignore what you're meant to be doing, the more it will force itself to become apparent in your life that you need to BEGIN TODAY. Fear will hold us back, of course, but once you set into positive motion those baby steps towards your purpose and your passion, nothing can stop that momentum. I believe that. I've lived it &I'm experiencing it again.

Your intuition is a crazy thing to ignore, so follow it. I seriously believe that we were all put on this earth for a purpose, some as big a gift as being the president of the United States and some as small but just as important as a janitor. Whatever it is big or small, it's a purpose and a gift that needs to be fulfilled while we're here on earth... and I believe that we need to be relentless in that pursuit of finding out exactly what that is. Relentless in the sense that we achieve our highest potential and strive to be there every. day. of. our. lives. It's a crazy journey, but one I want to learn to embrace and keep working at, everyday.

So don't wait for the timing to be right. It will never be. Don't wait for the time when you think no one will criticize you, they ALWAYS will regardless of how successful you are. Don't wait for the time you think you're ready, your fear will always psych you out. JUST DO IT.

The present is a gift and I just wanna BE.

This summer is a special summer to me. For the first time in what seems like forever, I am allowing myself to relish in this moment of being completely unsure of my future. I've always been the type to always have a plan and goals to reach by a certain age, and though I am completely all for them, I actually like taking this time off to simply reboot.

How much more exhilarating is life knowing that your future is left in your own hands to create? I don't have a job lined up nor any extra curricular activities, but for ONCE, I am actually waking up everyday enjoying myself, thinking things thoroughly and really getting in tune with who I am. Not to say that everything I used to do in the past wasn't beneficial to me now, hell, I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to do a million different things at once, but I've finally allowed what "I have to do" to take a backseat for once in my life.

I've always been the busy girl, or even, the girl that was "too busy". I secretly hated it because it meant to me that I didn't know that balance between work and play. I can't blame anyone for it either, because in hindsight, it was true. But now I'm trying to make a conscious effort to truly be there and focus on my friendships and relationships. I felt like my life was on the fast track for so long... a complete whirlwind from high school to college, and now I'm finally able to look back on it all and let out that huge sigh of relief that I've held in for so long.

It's an exciting time of my life and I wake up everyday thankful that I even get the choice to even have one. Stay blessed,

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" -Lao-tzu

I love when our creativity and our hopes & dreams all meet at a certain point, leaving the future open to our own construction... with endless possibilities and endless ideas. My sisters & I have big goals & big things we want to accomplish and it just takes ONE person, one IDEA, one STEP to put this all into motion. &&& oh boyyyy, is it in motion now..

I can't wait for what the future has in store! It's going to be an amazing year.

STAY DRIVEN.

“If you can find a path with no obstacles,
it probably doesn’t lead anywhere.”
- Frank A. Clark

I am a big believer in having people in your life who are willing to challenge you.
And in turn, expecting only the best from those around you so they are willing to challenge themselves too.
I'd rather have people be tough, constructive and honest with me,
then have a room full of enablers who are okay with me settling for the easy way out.
This goes for ANYTHING, not just for your work & career.
But also your character and your choice of actions.

quick

You know that feeling when you realize today could be the beginning of the rest of your life? I have had this overwhelming feeling hit me several times this week and I wonder what has brought me to this point. I guess after the darkness does come Light. How did everything fall into place? I don't know. The cards are aligning themselves while I sleep and I am at the honor of living out everyday the best way that I know. Yes, people will hurt you along the way and you will be left feeling disappointed but persistence is key. Never let up & stay true to yourself. Someone told me that even if I had a 1% fighting chance at something I believed in, NEVER to back down. Probably the best advice I've ever gotten in a long time.

It's crazy. I know where I want to end up, but up until now I never really knew how to get there. And even if things fall through in the alternative direction I had hoped, I truly believe I am capable of anything I want. That's the thing about this world, we are all so capable of anything we want. Who is to say that you can't do something? To me, that's the best motivation. I believe in the dreams of people and want to make sure everyone gets their piece of the pie. Its a beautiful feeling.

I am getting closer to my dreams. I won't let hurtful words or people bring me down. Good character takes you a long way in this world.

Elections tonight yo! We'll see if I get one step closer today.

PEACE!
