Mother Teresa

These words of wisdom from Mother Teresa set me in a positive motion for the day...

"God loves me. I'm not here to just fill a space, just to be a number. He has chosen me for a purpose. I know it."

"We have to love until it hurts. It is not enough to say, "I Love." We must put that love into a living action. And how do we do that? By giving until it hurts."

"We must know that we have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world, not just to go for diplomas and degrees, this work and that work. We have been created in order to love and be loved."

"If you are humble, nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are. If you are blamed, you won't be discouraged; if anyone calls you a saint, you won't put yourself on a pedestal."

"When we realize that we are all sinners needing forgiveness it will be easy for us to forgive others. We have to be forgiven in order to be able to forgive. If I do not understand this, it will be very hard for me to say, "I forgive you" to anyone who comes to me." --Something that I want to apply to my relationships.

"Let us be very sincere in our dealings with each other and have the courage to accept each other as we are. Do not be surprised at or become preoccupied with each other's failure; rather see and find the good in each other, for each one of us is created in the image of God."

"Money? I never give it a thought. It always comes. We do all our work for our Lord; he must look after you. If he wants something to be done, he must give us the means. If he does not provide us with the means, then it shows that he does not want that particular work. I forget about it."

Btw, the is book entitled, Mother Teresa: Her Essential Wisdom edited by Carol Kelly-Gangi and was only $7 at B.Dalton!
