Know Thyself.

I know its easy to forget, especially since a lot of times the people that you look up to and love the most forget or are blinded by their own shit. However, at the end of the day, you are the ONLY one that is going to be able to truly SEE yourself and know who you are….so take time daily to connect with your truth, realistically! (which can be hard sometimes). Your opinion is the only one that matters, not your parents, husband, boyfriend, best friend, boss, whoever. Knowledge of self is sacred. Honor it. - Melody Ehsani

This weekend, my Momma & I headed out to LA for a weekend adventure and I must say, I loved every second of it. It started on Friday, to get our passports at the Federal Building on Wilshire, which was an adventure in itself. Sometimes, a little charm and small talk can save LOTS of time, LOL. My mom is hilarious. After that, we did some shopping, stopped by Opening Ceremony then hit up shops on Melrose. I bought two vintage clutches / purses, both with gold chain straps which I absolutely looove and they totaled out to only $20! After that, I headed over to Michelle, Christina and Helen's apartment to visit with friends! I got a little taste of what it would be like living in LA again and I will admit, I'm getting pretty hyped to go back! After that, AJ met up and we headed out to the Staples Center area. Walked around, enjoyed the Christmas lights/show, etc. I want to go back to see the Grammy Museum that just opened also. We ended the night going to Janine's apartment to watch the Slayaz/Slaydies Secret Santa. It was so nice to be in the presence of everyone I love at UCLA! Can't wait to get back!

The next morning, AJ and I headed to Ghelenn's for breakfast, which I must add was bomb, considering we were so hungry! Then we drove out to Santa Ana for the OBEY sample sale. The deals were ridiculous! I got 5 shirts for $40 and a windbreaker for $35! Pretty sick considering I saved about $130! After that we headed back to Whittier for his bball game, met up with his parents and watched the boys beat up West Coast Baptist. And then we ended the night watching Manny Paquiao fuckin annihilate De La Hoya on my TiVO. What a greaaat end to the night. Did YOU see it?!

To know the impact Manny Pacquiao has on OUR country and what his triumphs and achievements mean to the Philippines, here is an excerpt of an article from the International Herald Tribune..
"In cities and towns across the Philippines, traffic was practically nonexistent Sunday. The crime rate was zero in Manila and other major urban centers, the police said. And days before, the military had announced it would not be opening any offensives against enemies of the state for a day, while Muslim insurgents responded by promising not to attack."

THAT is the kind of affect he has on our country. If you don't know, now ya KNOW!

All in all, this weekend was sick. Lots of new adventures I hope to continue in 2009. && I will NEVER buy anything full price anymore, thats for SURE.

Life is good, God is good. I am so blessed! More and more I realize the power of choice and my right to exercise it to dictate how my day will turn out. KNOW THYSELF!
